The Challenger Learning Center of Maine is hosting its annual E-Waste Fundraising Event on:

8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Challenger Learning Center of Maine, 30 Venture Way Bangor

This is the only E-Waste collection the Center will be doing in 2026, so don’t miss your one chance this year to responsibly recycle old electronics and support STEM programs for students across Maine!

What It’s All About

Bring your unwanted electronic items and drop them off between 8 AM and 11 AM on April 18th. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to help guide vehicles through the drop-off process, just pull in, and they’ll assist you.

This event raises funds to help the Challenger Learning Center continue providing hands-on STEM learning experiences for classrooms, families, and youth across the state. We’re proud to partner with community supporter North Coast Services, whose generous support helps make this fundraiser possible.

Items You Can Bring

Items typically accepted include (but aren’t limited to):
• CRT monitors & televisions
• Printers, fax machines, scanners
• Computer towers (CPUs) & laptops
• Cell phones & small electronics
• Microwaves & other miscellaneous electronics

Items Not Accepted

  • Air Conditioners

  • Dehumidifiers

  • Any Freon devices

  • Mercury devices such as thermostats or thermometers, smoke detectors, light bulbs, Christmas/holiday lights

  • Batteries.

Suggested Donation

While there’s no fee to recycle, donations are encouraged to support Challenger’s mission to inspire students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM):

  • Suggested: $10 for the first item

  • $5 for each additional item

  • Cash, Cards and checks accepted onsite.

Every dollar donated helps bring exciting STEM opportunities to Maine students, your support makes a big difference!
