E-Waste Disposal 2025: April 14-18
Procedure for this Spring 2025:
Challenger and their E-waste partner, North Coast Services, present the
2025 Spring E-Waste collection plan:
Procedure: Challenger will not hold a 1 day event. Instead, residents from any community will be welcome drop of their E-waste @ North Coast Service’s collection warehouse.
When: Residents will be eligible to drop off their Ewaste during the 1 week period of April 14-18 [Mon-Fri] from 8 AM – 2:30 PM.
What: The following items are what is acceptable for drop-off
Items Accepted Include:
CRT Monitors, Televisions, Printers, Fax Machines, Scanners, CPUs[computer towers], Laptops, Cell Phones, Microwaves, Miscellaneous Electronics
Items Not Accepted :
Air Conditioners/Dehumidifiers, any Freon devices, mercury devices such as thermostats or thermometers, smoke detectors, light bulbs, Christmas/holiday lights, large electronics such as a vacuum cleaner or batteries. No bags of batteries.
Why: Please note: Challenger does not benefit from your recycled materials- charitable cash donations in any amount will be gratefully accepted! During this fundraiser, please, be as generous as you can with your cash donation, to help Challenger fulfill its mission to inspire Maine students in STEM learning!
Suggested donations: $10/ first item, $5 each additional. Accepting cash/checks. There will be a drop box for your donations when you drop off your e-waste. Checks can be payable to: Challenger
Where: The drop off location is at North Coast Service’s location, 358 Emerson Mill Rd, Hampden, ME (very close to Dysart’s truck stop and inside of Pine Tree Waste).
Once you arrive at the facility, pull up in front of the middle white bay door and stay in your vehicle. An assisting attendant will open the bay door and unload the ewaste from your vehicle.
