Motion Makers Summer Camp -a fun FREE camp experience!


Join us this summer for Motion Makers Camp as we partner up again with the Cole Land Transportation Museum to bring your student this fun collaboration camp! We would love your middle school student (entering grades 6-8th in the 2025-2026 school year) to join us for this unique half day camp experience. Taking place at the Cole Land Transportation Museum here in Bangor, Challenger and Cole staff will be partnering to explore the science, technology, and history behind some of their most iconic vehicles! Each day will explore a new topic through hands-on engineering and a deeper look into the museum than regularly available to the public!  

Topics include:
-Robotics & Electronics
-Engines
-Physics
-Historic cars, trucks, trains and more

16 students max will be accepted for this camp week.

Location: This camp will take place at the Cole Land Transportation museum, 405 Perry Rd, Bangor, ME.

This half day camp runs July 7th-11th
Drop off: 12:00 PM
Pick up: 3:30 PM

Cost: FREE
In accordance with The Cole Land Transportation Museum’s mission of students always visiting for free, this camp is entirely free of charge. During registration, parents and students will be asked to briefly describe what attending this camp would mean to them.

Campers will be required to bring snacks and a water bottle.  T-shirt and NASA giveaways are included.

Requirements for the students that enroll:

-Upon enrolling, parents and students will be asked to briefly describe what attending this camp would mean to them.

-Students will be required to mail in physical thank you notes to The Cole Land Transportation Museum. Thank you notes should highlight their camp experiences. Thank you notes should be postmarked within 7 days of the end of their camp week.

-There are limited camp spots available and cancellations are discouraged. If you have to cancel your camp week reservations, cancellations must be made 2 weeks prior to the first day of camp.

-Camp attendance is required. There are limited camp spots and attendance is needed for each day of camp. We are expecting a waitlist, and by not attending you are taking away your own experience and that of another potential camper’s too. If you do not attend (without a valid excuse)- you will not be eligible for future camp scholarships to Challenger.

-Families of recipients of this scholarship are strongly encouraged to visit the Cole Land Transportation Museum located at 405 Perry Rd, Bangor, ME 04401 by Nov 11, 2025. This museum is free for students/children. Visit www.colemuseum.org for details on how to visit.
